Robert Bob Louis Ashley

ASHLEY, Robert Louis “Bob” – 60, Dutch Settlement, passed away May 11, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Dutch Settlement, he was a son of the late Louis and Lorna (Hines) Ashley. Bob grew up on the family farm and always enjoyed going back to work with his dad. He retired from Maritime Tel & Tel after many years of service. He then worked for Farmer Clems, Sackville and most recently Withrows Farm Market, Belnan. He liked going “fishing with the boys” in his younger years. Bob enjoyed being surrounded by family especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed bringing his family together where he would prepare delicious Sunday night dinners followed by coffee and lots of laughs. He will be sadly missed by son Mike (Catherine), daughter Lynda (Brent) Ransome; grandchildren Grace, Mikey, Layla and Hailey; sisters Mona (Corky) Mason, Trudy (Philip) Woodworth, dear friend Jo Ann; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant sister Sherry Gail. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. No visitation by request. Friends and family are welcome to attend a graveside service 11 AM, Saturday in St. George’s Cemetery, Dutch Settlement. A reception will be held in the church basement following the service. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
