
TAYLOR, Sarah Ella “Sadie” – 96, Halifax/Stewiacke, passed away with her son by her side on July 23, 2012 in the QEII Health Science Centre, Halifax. Born in Stewiacke, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Edna (Stone) Dickie. Mom, “Sadie” had a love for the fine things in life shopping, needlepoint, knitting for IWK, painting, baking and preserves. She left Stewiacke in 1998 to live closer to her son and family. At the time of her death she was a resident of Victoria Hall, where she could always be found in the tea room with friends or at socials. Until 2010 she could be seen at the mall people watching and of course shopping. She is survived by her only son Patrick Taylor, daughter-in-law Debra, Bedford; four grandchildren Keri (Erik) Jensen, New Orleans; Krista, Kyle and Katie all of Bedford; two great grandchildren Ella and Jakob Jensen, New Orleans; her special niece Diane and husband Bob Nadeau who spent a lot of time with her; sisters Celia (Hugh) Heasler, Kingston, ON; Joan (Don) Montrose, Batawa, ON; Ann Poser, Montreal, Quebec; several nieces and nephews; Special thanks to her dear friend Bette Dickie, Stewiacke and extended family of Edna Leonard. She was predeceased by her husband Craig Taylor, sister Jean and her husband Menzie Stewart, brothers Bill Dickie, Howard Dickie, and wife Gwen, Harry Dickie, brother-in-law Felix Poser, nephew Randy Dickie and niece Jane Montrose. Graveside funeral 1pm, Saturday, July 28 at Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East. Reception to follow at the St. Andrews United Church, Stewiacke.
