

PINHEY, Thomas Burns, - 86, Elmsdale, formerly of Milton, Queens Co., passed away Wednesday October 31, 2012 in the Camp Hill Veteran’s Memorial Building, QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late John H. and Theresa (Hunt) Pinhey. He was a veteran of the Second World War. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Elmsdale Branch 48. Tom worked at Nova Scotia Power for 42 years, retiring as a superintendant of hydro operations for the Western Zone. Tom loved fly-fishing and photography. He is survived by his wife, Jean Marguerite (Hirtle); daughter, Andrea Pinhey (Bill Collings); sons, Mark Pinhey; Brian Pinhey (Ashley Slauenwhite); grandchildren; Nicolas, Michael, Cory, Adam, Joshua, Kathryn, Candice and Jeremy; brother Jim (Carol) Pinhey, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Sherill Elizabeth Pinhey, in infancy, brothers; John, Sidney and Robert, sisters; Lillian and Helen. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9 pm today, Thursday at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2 Shubenacadie. A funeral service will be held 10am Friday November 2, 2012 in Christ Anglican Church, Lantz, Rev. Canon David Fletcher and Rev. Patricia McKenna officiating. Interment will take place at 3pm in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Bog Road, Liverpool. Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
