Betty Jo Yeargain, 85, of Sikeston, passed away on June 18, 2011 at the Bertrand Nursing Facility. Born November 10, 1925, in Sikeston to the late P.V. and Lora Lee Moody Branum, she was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Sikeston. She retired after 35 years as a chief operator and then drafting clerk from Southwestern Bell in Sikeston. On January 17, 1953, in Piggott, AR, she married Gerald W. Yeargain, who preceded her in death on September 29, 2010.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Lee Ann Yeargain-Wright and Maurice "Reese" Wright of Sikeston; one sister, Juanita Alcorn of Sikston; and one step grandson, Joshua Blake Wethington of Sikeston.
Visitation will be from 11:00am until time of the funeral service at 1:00pm on Wednesday, June 22, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Ron Spell, pastor of the Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
