

Poplar Bluff – Brenda K. King, age 68, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Sikeston, died October 2, 2015, in Rockford, Ill., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born April 4, 1947, in Sikeston, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Mabel Bohannon Merrick.
Brenda was a dedicated follower of Jesus. She was an amazing mother and loving wife. She loved caring for her family. Brenda attended Sikeston High School as well as Southeast Missouri State University, graduating with a degree in art. She was affiliated with Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority.
On February 8, 1969, in Sikeston, she married Mike King and he survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Clare (Dan) Herlihy of Annapolis, Md.; two sons, Michael King of Milwaukee, Wisc., and Sam King of Eau Claire, Wisc.; one sister, Regina Guthrie of Sikeston; and 2 grandchildren, Cooper and Colby Herlihy.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 8, from 10am-1pm at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where funeral services will be conducted at 1pm. The Dr. Glen Bohannon of Sneads Ferry, N.C., will officiate.
