Corinne was born August 6, 1923 in North Vassalboro, Maine. She was the daughter of Frank H. and Gertrude Poulin Getchell. She joined the US Navy WAVES after graduating from Winslow High School in Maine. She met Norman Crumpecker of Morehouse while they were both stationed in Washington DC during World War II. The two married in Rockville, MD on January 28, 1946 and soon moved to Morehouse.
She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking and socializing. She had many hobbies and liked to play cards, cook and quilt. She was a member of Vassalboro Maine Historical Society, United Service Organization, American Legion Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, various Bridge Clubs and the Bootheel Quilters Guild. In fact, her quilting abilities won her many prizes. Her children remember her for her excellent cooking and baking skills, especially her molasses cookies that she seemed to have a secret recipe for. She was a devoted member of the Rauch Spence Memorial United Methodist Church and a proud resident of the Morehouse community.
