

Lindell was born in Sikeston, Missouri on October 4, 1949, to the late Jerry and Ramona Eakins.
He was a 1968 graduate of Sikeston Senior High School. Right after High School, he joined the United States Navy. While in the Navy, he served in Vietnam on the U.S.S. Ranger. He was honorably discharged in 1972. After returning to Sikeston, he worked as a mechanic at many locations in Sikeston including Homestead, SEMO Motor Company, and Jarvis, to name a few. In 1993, Lindell changed careers and went to work with the Scott County Sheriff’s Department. After his first retirement, he went back to work at a School Resource Office at Thomas W. Kelly School in Benton, MO. He officially retired from law enforcement in 2023.
In 1984, he met the love of his life, Terry. They were united in marriage on November 1, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV. She survives of the home. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by one son, Joe Eakins of Las Vegas, Nevada and one daughter, Maureen (Jason) Kiestler of Halls, Tennessee. He is also survived by three sisters, Barbie (Darryl) Butts of Marion, Illinois, Mary Lou Farmer of Oran, MO, and Dianna Lynn Moit of Bertrand, MO, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by special friends Joe and Jeannie McCoy of Tyler, TX; Gary and Colleen Sills and Steve and Wissie Hampton of Sikeston, MO.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, Missouri.
A private family interment will be held Thursday, December 18, 2025, with full military honors at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
