

Ruby McRoy Hughes, age 86, passed away July 24, 2016, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston. Born November 9, 1929, in Cato, Oklahoma, to the late James P. and Nova Rowland Dufur, she was a homemaker and member of the Christ Gospel Church in Millersville. She was first married to N.J. McRoy, who preceded her in death. She later married Herman Hughes, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Joey McRoy and Angela Womack of Chaffee; two daughters and one son-in-law, Janet and Rickie Hampton of Sikeston and Barbara McRoy of Sikeston; two brothers, Bill Dufur of Moline, Illinois and Jerry Dufur of Port Byron, Illinois; and one sister and brother-in-law, Jimmie and Clem Blaise of East Moline, Illinois.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Roxann McRoy of Miner.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at noon on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Rev. Ira Sandefer, pastor of the Smith Avenue Church of God in Sikeston and Rev. Larry Matthews, pastor of the Christ Gospel Church in Millersville, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Cody McRoy, Luke McRoy, Jordan Barton, Cameron Barton, Heath McCain and Gary Rowland.
