Thomas Duff Jr.

Tom or “Q” as his grands and great grands called him was born on February 6, 1936 to Thomas and Mary Duff. His early years were spent between Portageville and Sikeston.

Thomas married the love of his life, Frances Carolyn Evans, on July 13, 1957. Carolyn is already in heaven waiting for him.

After graduation from Sikeston Tom spent several years working for Reiss Dairy in Sikeston. After that he found the employment he would work for until retirement after 42 years, MoDot. He served in the Missouri National Guard from 1954-1965. He still has the fork and spoon as souveniors.

Throughout his life he served many years on the MoDot Credit Union Board. He was also on the Kelly R4 School Board and DAEOC Board.

He was the treasurer for the Blodgett Baptist Church for a period of time as well.

Tom was a fun loving guy and liked telling stories and making people smile. He was definitely a people person. “One of a kind guy”.

Tom worked hard to provide for his family. He was a hero to his daughters, Kimberly (J.D.) McClard and Terri (Tom) Williams. When his granddaughters came along the admiration for Tom continued with Kristin (Chris) Porter, Sara (Russell) Orr, Trevin (Chelsea) Williams and Lindsay (Adam) Laneer. Then came a new generation and those little ones were the apple of his eye, Kinley and Clarissa Porter and Thomas (his namesake) and Eleanor Orr, Cayson and Kailey Williams and Mason and Spencer Laneer.

Tom loved his family and protected them. The family wishes to keep that going with a social distancing graveside service at Garden of Memories in Sikeston on 12-15-2020 at 1:00 p.m.

Rather than flowers, in honor of Tom’s legacy, the family asks simply that you give someone a smile today, and let your loved ones know that you love them. .
