
Truman Leon Garrett, 74, of Sikeston, died February 16, 2016, at the Southeast Health Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Born May 22, 1941, in Perkins, to the late Oscar and Merdel Gross Garrett, he had been employed as a truck driver for WW Transport.
Survivors include: two sons, Tony Garrett and Jimmy Garrett, both of Sikeston; one daughter, Margie Stone of Sikeston; five brothers, Jessie Garrett of St. Louis, George Garrett of Davis Junction, Ill., Raymond Garrett of Charleston, Sam Garrett of Cape Girardeau and Joe Garrett of Bertrand; and three sisters, Shirley Foster of Paragould, Ark., and Emma Parker and Margie Flemming, both of Booneville, Miss. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Garrett, Tom Garrett and David Garrett, and six sisters, Irene Pollard, Oma Rodgers, Dorothy McKinsey, Nancy Davis, Linda Phuge and Beverly Isbell.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 19, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
