I knew Pastor Alan B since I was a child attending Wismar Church.  His love for God was inspiring. I will continue to pray for Erma and the rest of the family. May God watch over you as we awaiting that Golden Morning.

Dear Irma
Writing to you as my recollections of you, more than your beloved husband, fly across the screen and memory USB drives of my mind.  I close my eyes and see your charming smile, your glasses, that crazy white blouse and green skirt past your knees that constituted the uniform of college students.  But most of all what resonates is how my mum just spoke of you (behind your back, of course) in our home.  One sentence I remember is "That Irma -- she is sharp as a tack!".  Well I guess you showed your smarts in marrying your sweetheart, with whom you shared 50 years!  Alan now sleeps here, but his life force went back to God for safe keeping.  SAFE KEEPING -- what a wonderful turn of phrase for what Papa God does for us when we close our eyes permanently..... he keeps our breath and life force safe for another time, another place, another better event than all the events on this earth.  
So as my mum's and dad's daughter, Guyanese descent,  USCUC Alumna, and whatever else -- sending hugs across thousands of miles for you first, and then for you to pass on to your children.   You may be sad,  you will have unexpected bouts of grief, but your beautiful smile is too powerful and will overcome things as your heart permits and slowly re-appear at the opportune times.

When we loose someone we love,it seems that time stands still. What moves through us is silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you past, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget!  May you have a safe journey you will be truly missed! We love you!

Dear Johnson family, Our hearts go out to you at this difficult time in the passing of your husband, father, grandfather, brother and relative, Alan. He was a inspiration to all who knew him over the decades as fellow student, pastor and tireless Christian leader of so many congregations from Guyana to Maryland. His strong belief in the soon second coming of Our Lord Jesus will continue in our lives until we meet him again. We continue to pray for you as you face the challenging days ahead..Blessings always.

The music experience during our time at CUC was rich, and the Johnson brothers contributed markedly to the enrichment. In addition to Allan's smile, I will remember his voice.  Irma, "The Lord will give strength unto His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace" (Psalm 29:11).  Keep the faith; a better day is coming.

May God continue to comfort you Sister Johnson and family.  Pastor Johnson touched so many lives and he was super wonderful to me.  When I lived in Laurel, Pastor Johnson came to my house every Monday for one year and did Bible study with me before I was baptized at Metropolitan SDA.    Truly Pastor Jonson was one of God’s angels on earth.  


Pastor Allan B Johnson  was a great preacher, a caring person and a wonderful mentor. He would be greatly missed but his impact on the church will not be forgotten.  May God grant you, Sis Irma and the rest of the family, strength and comfort in this time of loss.   My condolences to the family. 

My fondest memory of Pastor Johnson is when he agreed to marry Calvin and I.  He was very clear that we needed pre marital counselling.  And he was prepared to do that too.  He was adamant about making sure that we were good... And I thank him for his diligence... Pastor you served well.  God is pleased.  Rest sir... Rest.
