

Ann Marie Moses, 77, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away on April 18th, 2026. A cornerstone of her family and faith, Ann Marie was a beloved sister, aunt, neighbor, khalti, and friend. She lived a life defined by her unwavering dedication to those she loved and her deep commitment to her church community.
She was born on February 3rd, 1949, in Washington, D.C., to Albert “Butch” John Moses and Marie Bottash Moses. She grew up on Ray Road in Hyattsville, MD, and attended Northwestern High School.
Ann Marie dedicated her professional career to public service, spending many years with the Department of Health and Human Services, where she took great pride in contributing to the community. Beyond her professional life, Ann was a pillar of St. Peter and Paul Antiochian Orthodox Church. Whether managing the treasury during the purchase of the River Road building or leading as the Ladies Club President, her leadership was marked by grace.
Her happiest moments, however, were found in the warmth of Christmas, surrounded by family, long lunches, and cherished phone calls with friends.
Ann Marie is survived by her sister, Donna Gavin, her brother-in-law, Joseph Gavin, and her 4 nieces and nephews: Leslie Courtright, Matthew, Andrew, and Alexandra Gavin. She was known as khalti to her grandnieces and nephews: Yasmin, Sophia, David, Viola, Georgia, and Arthur. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Albert, and her nephew, David Newkirk.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at St. Peter and Paul Antiochian Orthodox Church in Potomac, Maryland.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27th, at 10:00 am at St. Peter and Paul, followed by a burial service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Aspen Hill, Maryland, at 12:00 pm, and a reception at St. Peter and Paul to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter and Paul Antiochian Orthodox Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
