Barbara Reiner

Beloved wife of the late Alvin Reiner; devoted mother of Andrew Reiner (Priscilla Soto), Matthew (Julie) Reiner, Leah Chava Reiner (Jared Aiden Wolf), Tracy Stith and Laura McCarthy; cherished grandmother of Eden (Madeline) Soto-Reiner, Daniel (Laura) Reiner, Katherine Reiner, Benjamin Soto-Reiner, and Mark Reiner; and loving great grandmother of James Nicholas Reiner, Samuel Thomas Reiner, and Abigail Elizabeth Reiner.

Barbara was born in Harrisburg, PA on October 30, 1928 to Louis and Ida (Marcus) Schiffman. A graduate of Penn State University, she went on to earn her Masters and Ph.D. in Speech Pathology from the University of Maryland, while raising her family and working full-time.

She had a long career as a teacher, medical researcher, and speech pathologist in private practice at Speech Works Associates. She will be remembered as a mother, teacher, and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Tikvat Israel Congregation, 2200 Baltimore Road, Rockville, MD. Internment will be at Judean Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Riderwood Benevolent Care Fund.
