With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Calvin Raymond Robinson, who transitioned peacefully on June 9, 2025, at the age of 80.
Born in Trinidad and Tobago to the late Donna and Hubert Robinson, Calvin lived a life rooted in service, strength, and profound love. He was one of seven siblings, preceded in death by his brother Vernon, and lovingly survived by his sisters Monica, Merle, Jennifer, and Angela, and brother Hugh.
A proud son of the Caribbean, Calvin began his career as a police officer in Trinidad, serving with dedication for five years before immigrating to the United States to pursue his education and greater opportunities. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Tougaloo College and later completed his Master’s in Hospital Administration at Washington University in St. Louis.
A true servant-leader, he built a distinguished career as a hospital executive, working across healthcare systems in Washington D.C., Cleveland, and Maryland. His life’s work was driven by a passion for helping others—whether through transforming healthcare delivery or, later, offering financial guidance and care to the community through his work with H&R Block for over 40 years.
Calvin was also a man of deep faith. As a devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine, he served as a Knight in the Knights of Columbus, embodying the values of charity, unity, and service both in and outside the church.
But beyond titles and accomplishments, Calvin will be most remembered for who he was: a fiercely devoted husband, a proud and present father, a doting and enthusiastic grandfather, and a quiet giant who led with wisdom, humility, and heart. He and his beloved wife, Marina (née Brown), built a beautiful life together and were looking forward to celebrating 50 years of marriage this August—a testament to their unwavering love and partnership.
He poured himself into his family, attending every graduation, game, and milestone with pride beaming from the front row. Nothing brought him more joy than seeing his children and grandchildren thrive.
A lifelong athlete and competitor, Calvin was an avid runner and gym enthusiast well into his later years—earning awards both in college and at the masters level, determined to keep his body as strong as his spirit. Even in stillness, he moved others—with a quiet presence that invited deep conversation, heartfelt wisdom, and an uncanny ability to make you feel truly seen.
He is survived by his loving wife Marina; his children Michael, Michele (Tom), and Melissa (AB); and his grandchildren Kyah, Kahlia, Kree, Ryland, and Dylan. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends—many of whom considered him a second father, trusted mentor, and lifelong encourager.
Calvin’s legacy is etched not just in his accomplishments but in the way he showed up—with grace, integrity, and boundless generosity. He will be deeply, deeply missed.
