

Our beloved Chancel Pierre, “Pierrot”, Vainqueur, aged 57, passed away on August 1st, 2018, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. He was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Pierre Vital Vainqueur and Marie Varilia Vainqueur on January 20, 1961.
In Haiti, Pierrot attended Collège Soeurs de La Charité de Saint-Louis de Bourdon and graduated from Collège Canapé-Vert in 1978. While in high school, he also completed an Associates degree in Accounting. Although, as a child, he dreamed of becoming a medical doctor. In 1979, Pierrot pursed his dream and traveled to the United States of America to continue his education. Joining his family in the Washington metropolitan area, he attended Montgomery College. He later obtained a job with the United States Postal Service. Shortly after being diagnosed with polymyositis, Pierrot served more than 20 years at the US Postal Service.
Pierrot is survived by his father Pierre Vital Vainqueur, his wife, Stacey (nee Dorcius), his 5 children Talia, Rebecca, Sebastien, Tanisha, and Cephora Vainqueur, and his siblings, Andre, Martine, and Jean Marc Vainqueur. His nine nieces and nephews, his extended family, and dear friends will also forever remember him.
Pierrot enjoyed Kompa, Reggae, and American music, movies, mixed martial arts, photography and videography, and sports such as American football, basketball, and soccer. He also had a passion for involvement in the Haitian community. After the 2010 earthquake, Pierrot traveled to Haiti to assist in the relief efforts. One of his goals was to create a Haitian Community Center in the Washington metropolitan area. As a child, Pierrot was raised in the Catholic faith in which greatly influenced his knowledge of the word of God into his adulthood.
