David Pascal Seaton Thomas was born on May 14th, 1948 in Point Fortin Trinidad. An avid swimmer, he was known by many in his homeland as "Fish." He was very handy with giftings in all things mechanical and technical. Over his lifetime he had a number of jobs and careers but he most strongly identified with being both a Police Officer and Fireman in Trinidad. He was married for 46 years to Rachel "Sheila" (Richards) Thomas. He is survived by his wife and three children: Shari Thomas, Cassandra Thomas and Steve Richards. He was a proud and adoring "Papa" to his grandchildren: Malcolm Richards and Leila Richards. A long time resident and property owner in Brockton Massachusetts, he retired in the last few years to Bowie Maryland to be closer to family. He was a frequent watcher and "couch-based commentator" on professional sports, along with local and national politics programs. After more than forty years as a permanent resident of the United States, he achieved one of his long-term goals by becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen and casting his first vote in the 2024 election. A man of enduring faith and character, he was a deacon at his churches in Brockton and Boston Massachusetts. He was known for his powerful hands and unending physical endurance; but his greatest strengths were his kindness, generosity and overflowing sacrificial love.
