

Eric Williams Sr. was a devoted father, husband, and loving friend to all he met. He loved the lord and his family both in the Washington DC metro area and in Chicago where he was born. Professor at Howard University for 35 years Educational Technology Communications and Media. Loved to mentor students of color. He was a high school teacher for many years and paid for school starting with humble begins as a greyhound bus driver in the summers.
He was a Professor for 35 years at a historically black college and loved to mentor students of color, took his graduate masters and doctoral students on yearly West Coast trips as participants in the Project Pipeline educational excellence training leadership program. He loved teaching! He was a former high school and college athlete, loved baseball, and participated in sports all his life. His team won the city championship with his high school team for baseball, he wanted to go pro as an athlete but followed the career of teaching and became a professor of Education Communications and Technology. He attended Western Illinois University for his BA, next for an MFA Art Institute of Chicago, PHD Iowa State, and served in the military in Germany during Vietnam.
He was an avid photographer and fine arts painter in his private life. He played for his church softball and for the county local team in Maryland. He loved submarines, military history, aircraft carriers, and a favorite trip to the intrepid aircraft carrier in NYC and to attend the local Washington DC air fighter plan show with friends. He also had a love for the fine arts and painters Winslow Homer, Romare Bearden, Ansel Adams, and Jacob Lawrence. Enjoyed attending church at National Presbyterian Church in Washington DC (NPC), volunteering and taking community service and trips to countries such as Israel, Russia (The former Soviet Union), South Africa, Japan, and Germany. His greatest joy was working to encourage young people to pursue their academic dreams, to become strong leaders, and to live a life devoted to Christian service and volunteerism.
