

Born in the Philippines, Ferdie built a life centered on family and friendship. He shared 29 years of marriage with his former wife, Marissa Balbido-Payabyab, and is survived by his son, Jared Payabyab, and daughter-in-law, Mary Payabyab.
He was preceded in death by his parents Feliciano “Fely” Payabyab and Eleodora “Dory” Payabyab.
Ferdie leaves behind his five siblings: Chona Obordo and her late husband Gil Obordo; Roland Payabyab and his wife Melanie Prendergast; Carla Payabyab and her husband Elli Fernandez; Jessie Payabyab and his wife Ella Maragay-Payabyab; and Cecilia Snead and her husband Roger Snead.
He was an uncle to his nieces and nephews: Jackie Ky and her husband Timmy Ky; Jazmine Ashtiany and her husband Alex Ashtiany; Gaby Payabyab and her significant other Ryan Maher; Jillian Obordo; Emily Payabyab and her husband Abdullah Jamali; Alex Payabyab; and Jayden Payabyab. He was also blessed with four great nieces and nephews: Jordan Ky, Luna Ky, Logan Ky, and Aurielle Ashtiany.
Ferdie was known for his gift with the guitar, his passion for cars, and his talent as a champion bowler. Above all, Ferdie cherished the friendships he built throughout his life. He was deeply loved by his close circle of friends, the barkada, who became like family to him. His humor, loyalty, and generous spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home in Silver Spring, MD. At 1:00 pm, a celebration of life will be held with a reception to follow at the same location.
