Mr Chisley was my drafting teacher at Phelps in 1993.  He crossed my mind this morning and I had the urge to look him up. I am grateful to have had his tutelage and will always appreciate how he took interest in me and pushed me to be better. Bless his soul and rest in peace eternally sir

Remember driving downtown D.C. when my dad had to go to drop off paperwork and stuff like that before the next work or business day. I would ride with him and he would share a lot of life stories and advice mentorship and teaching me how to be a Man. I miss my Father each and every second of the day. He was the best Dad I could have ever wanted. Pops if you can hear or read this we are doing a pretty good job in taking care of mom she is ok. She has good and bad days but she miss you so much. I DREAM about you often and you seem to be ok. it's been a little over a year since the most high god called you home. You have another great grand child on the way pray for Jude Jr. in Heaven he is doing ok and becoming a good man and father. and Provider

I Thought this day would never come but I know that when God calls us home we have to go and be with the lord almighty. This poem was written in 1941 by my late Grand Mother Edith F. Chisley, Fairbanks, Swinson My Father the late James Henry Osborne Chisley Jr. was 2 years old. She gave it to me Sept 16, 1992 same year Damian Henry Chisley my younger Brother was killed.
Poem: MOTHER AND SON
IT WAS A GREAT---Anxiety which she possessed. FOR THE LITTLE---Boy with whom she was blessed. SUCH A TINY---Chap when he lost his dad.  FOR HE HAD---Died leaving his mom so sad. THEN DEEP IN---Earnest she made up her mind. TO STRIVE AND---Fight to keep him in line. SHE WANTED TO---Guide him as best she could. THE WAY SHE KNEW---His father would. AND IT SEEMS---In many wonderful ways. HE IS ON THE---Journey to make her proud someday. IT GOOD TO KNOW---This mother and son.  AND FEEL THEIR---Loving spirit which seem to rub on. THEY SEEM TO---Make such a go of it all. THAT you'd---Never know how hard was their fall. TIME PASSED. On and the wound began to close. THO BEING VERY---Poor only added to their woes. THEN IN HER---Quiet way she set out to change that. SO WHILE DAD---Rested she really shouldered the bat. SHE SURE DID---Struggle to keep it there. SO AFTER MUCH---Toiling it became easy to bear. IT Wasn't---Until then upon her it dawned.---THAT YOU MUST---Volunteer to help prayer along. IT WAS TRULY---Wonderful watching them climb. SO LIKE AN---X-ray you sort of knew what they'd find.---IF AND WHEN---You get down and so blue.---TO GET RENEWED---Zest think of the story I 've just told you. Nice to my daughter Bridget and also to Damian  his grandson.  He will  truly be missed.

Jimmy, you will always be my hero.  You saved my life as well as others when we were down South in the early 70s.  After leaving a function and stopping at a truck rest stop  for food we were confronted by hatred and a distant cousin was shot and killed.  While many of our relatives made it out of the truck stop without being shot, some of us were unable to get out.  You protected us from harm my hovering over us as we knelt in front of the counter.  I will never forget you.  You will be sorely missed.   My prayers and sympathy go out to your family.   

To the family, my heartfelt condolences for your loss. Please find comfort in the knowledge that God promises to put an end to all the things that have plagued mankind for centuries including pain, suffering and death (Revelation 21:3,4). May these promises from God give you comfort now and real hope for the future. My deepest sympathy.

James is also survived by four sisters-in-law Florence, Eva, Sharon, and Gwendolyn. Five Brother-in-Laws Roy, Robert ‘Rob’, James ‘Jimmy’, Charlie D. and Dennis, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephew friends, and other relatives.
