Josephine Santisi

Josephine Nancy Santisi, 97, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Brooke Grove Rehab and Nursing Center in Sandy Spring, MD. Josephine (Josie) was born in New Brunswick, NJ to Onofrio and Giovanna Casabianca. She was the youngest of four children. She graduated from St. Mary of Mt. Virgin School. She was a homemaker and worked part-time as a manicurist.

Josie lived most of her life in New Brunswick and North Brunswick, NJ and retired to Pt. Pleasant, NJ in 1984. The Jersey Shore was her favorite place to be and she loved entertaining her family (especially her grandchildren) and friends. Trips to the Beach and Boardwalk were enjoyed by all. Josie loved traveling with her husband and family (cruises to Bermuda) and to Maine with her long-time friend, Marge Gourley. She and her husband moved to Silver Spring, MD in 2009 to be closer to their children.

Josie is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Santo S. Santisi and her siblings, Anthony Casabianca, Carmelo Casabianca, and Mary Santisi. Survivors include her daughters, Linda Lee (Wayne) of Smyrna, TN, Patricia Lipuma (Anthony) of Silver Spring, MD, her grandchildren, Susan Lee of Smyrna, TN, Kevin Lee (Miriam) of Lascassas, TN, Kristen L. Horton (Joe) of Glen Burnie, MD, Lauren Lipuma, of Denver, CO, as well as great-grandchildren (Caleb, Bella, and Grant), many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and numerous family friends. Josie was so loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
