Lorraine Blaufeld was a true Washingtonian, born and raised in the D.C. area, and devoted much of her life to her beloved family in Montgomery County, Maryland. A proud and caring woman, Lorraine balanced dedication to her home with a professional career at NOAA, where her commitment and work ethic left a lasting impression.
One of the most defining chapters of her life began at a JCC dance in 1950, where she met the love of her life, Sol. That chance meeting blossomed into nearly 70 years of marriage — a partnership grounded in love, respect, and shared joy.
Lorraine’s heart was always with her family. Her home was filled with warmth, especially on Sundays, when she would cook unforgettable meals that brought everyone together. Her table was a gathering place — full of laughter, stories, and the smell of delicious food made with love.
She had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures: the beauty of Hawaii, a place she returned to often with Sol, and the voice of Elvis Presley, whose music brought her joy and a twinkle in her eye.
Lorraine was a woman of quiet strength, generous spirit, and deep devotion. She leaves behind a legacy of love, tradition, and cherished memories that her family and friends will carry forward. She will be deeply missed, but always remembered — in every Sunday dinner, every song that brings back a smile, and every act of love passed down through generations.
