Pamela Annette Root passed peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. She was 61. Daughter of Beatrice Root and the late Samuel H. Root, Pam’s life journey took her from her native Washington, DC, to ports in Boston, Florida, and Colorado before setting anchor in Annapolis, Maryland. Pam’s love and dedication to her work, friends, and family were a gift to all who knew her. She leaves behind her mother, Beatrice Root; her sister Debbie Hersh, brother-in-law Ira Hersh, and nephew Jason Hersh; her brother Jerry Root; her godchildren Jared and Guyden Jacobs; and her beloved pup Marina. She will be missed always by all whose lives she touched. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 22, at 1:30 p.m. at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20904. Shiva will be observed from Sunday through Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate honoring this beautiful person through a donation in Pam’s name to a charity or organization you deem appropriate.
