Richard Evan Leepson

Born on July 18, 1947, in Newark, New Jersey, Evan was the son of the late Selma and Arthur Leepson. He settled in Maryland, creating a life deeply rooted in family, love, and meaningful connection with his community.

Evan is survived by his devoted wife, Gail Guttman, and by his children: Allie Leepson (with Jesse McClary), Max Leepson (with Megan Leepson), Matthew Altman (with Camila Altman), and Jill Altman-Caffery (with Kate Altman-Caffery). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Mila and Lettie Leepson, and to Sara and Reina Altman. He is also survived by his brother, Marc Leepson, and Marc’s wife, Janna.

Evan was deeply proud of his family—especially the accomplishments of his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. A man of faith and community, he was an active member of Chabad of Potomac, where he found spiritual connection and lasting friendships. He was known for his great sense of humor and passion for travel and adventure.

A funeral service will be held at the Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park in Clarksburg, Maryland, on Sunday, June 15, at 12:00 PM. Shiva will be observed at the family home in Rockville Sunday through Thursday.
