Roger Merrill Poor of Laurel, MD, died on July 14, 2024, at the age of 76. Born in 1948 in NYC, he grew up on Long Island and in Connecticut. He had a BA from Princeton University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. Since 2019, he was the CFO of the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments in DC. Prior to this role, he acquired decades of experience in financial management and operations, working both in the nonprofit world and in growth-oriented service enterprises. Roger was devoted to his wife, Joanne Poor, who died in January of this year, and to their dog Loki. He is survived by four siblings (Edith Poor, Susan Poor, Geoff Poor, and Henry Poor) and several nieces and nephews. Roger was buried in the Garden of Remembrance in Clarksburg, MD, in a private ceremony.
