Rosario Guerrero Lamota

She was a resident of the District for the past 56 years, but she was born on May 21, 1929, in Guayaquil, Ecuador. She emigrated in 1966 and was joined one year later by her mother Deborah Augusta and her children, Deborah Aracelly and Carlos Luis.

She dedicated her career to the care and comfort of others. Her hard work helped ensure that her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren would have the opportunities that drove her to the U.S.

Rosario was predeceased by her husband Jose Cabrales; her mother, Deborah Augusta; her father Xavier Guerrero Pita; her sister, Amanda Graciella; and her brother, Luis Umberto.

She is survived by her children Deborah Torriente (nee Valle Guerrero) and Carlos Cadena; her grandchildren, Norida Torriente, Samantha Ager (nee Torriente), Kimberly, Teresa, and Laura Cadena; and her great-grandchildren Keller Corfield, Sophia Ager, Ilsa Corfield, Scott Ager, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 3:30-6:00PM at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home (11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20904). Rosario's funeral mass will be on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 10AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church (1006 Larch Ave, Takoma Park, MD 20912), followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 12PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alzheimer’s Association and the American Diabetes Association be made in her honor.
