Stephen was born on March 7, 1963, the beloved first child and only son, to Sara and the late David Harris. In addition to his mother, Stephen is survived by his sister, Ruth (Jonathan) Wallace, and nieces Danielle and Emma Wallace. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Stephen earned both a BA (History) and MA (Soviet History) in his four years at Washington University in St. Louis, graduating in 1985. He worked for almost 30 years as a technical writer, editor and government proposal writer. He was a voracious reader, an avid collector of military history memorabilia – primarily Civil War era, and an animal lover.
Graveside services will be held at Judean Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, March 23 at 1pm and will also be available to view on Zoom. Contact Tikvat Israel Congregation for the Zoom link. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Poplar Springs Animal Sanctuary (http://www.animalsanctuary.org) or to the charity of your choice.
