Vashti was not one in a million she was one in a universe! There was none like her! She was as effervescent as she was vivacious. She was  ubiquitous as she was indefatigable. She was fearless as she was  undaunted. She was witty as she was smart. She was vociferous as she was uninhibited. She was considerate as she was generous. She was determined as she was accomplished. She was VASHTI! 
I have had the pleasure of knowing her for over 20 years on a personal & professional level & you get the same Vashti in both spheres.
I am still trying to process that she is gone. It breaks my heart to see her go but warms my soul to recall her life. Condolences to Pat, Jackie, Kineta, JoeJoe & the rest of the family. Be comforted in the memories & how AMAZING VASHTI was! SIP my friend ! Forever in my heart.

A Tribute to My Dear Friend, Vashti
Vashti, our story began with you scolding me—something I’d quickly learn was just your way of showing care. From that moment on, you took me under your wing, guiding me with your wisdom and experience, especially during our time at Cannes Film Festival. What started as a lesson soon became a bond—one that grew into mentorship, business partnership, and, most importantly, a motherly love that I cherished deeply.
I’ll never forget the memories we made, trailblazing the red carpets, hopping from one after-party to the next, and rubbing elbows with the film industry’s elite. And even though you weren’t part of that world at first, I dragged you right into it—giving you your first producer credit. You wore that title with such pride, and knowing that brings me so much joy.
You were fierce, strong, and yes—stubborn. You hid your pain from me, but I understand now. You gave so much of yourself to others, always lifting those around you, always standing tall. I love you, my dear friend. Rest well, until we meet again on the carpet. ❤️

Such an amazing person and what a wonderful life!!  Vashti’s vibrant personality will live on in our hearts forever. Our sincere condolences  to the Henriques family.

Vashti was the life of EVERY party I had the pleasure of attending. There are many memories of hanging out with her at NMA conventions, CBC weekend, Martha's Vineyard and a host of other events in the DMV.  I can't  recall how we met and I'm so glad we did!  She exemplfied living life to the fullest. Thank you, Vashti for the example you've set for us all.

My first memory of Vashti was at Jackie's home.  I was sitting in her dining room with their mother.  Jackie and Vashti were in the kitchen.  Vashti saw something that belonged to Jackie, took it, and then tore off running through the house with Jackie screaming, giggling and chasing her!  The two of them were like little girls.  In fact, their mom even smiled and said to me "listen to those little girls!"  I will cherish these happy memories - and all the memories I've had - with Vashti.  We will miss her dearly.

Will always remember my friend Vashti, with her vibrant, engaging personality, and with whom I shared so many great and unique experiences from Africa, to Jamaica, to Marthas Vineyard to the Cannes Film Festival.  We met many years ago when  she was at NMA along with Denise Brookings, and we became fast friends from there.  I never realized what an experience I was in for, but it was great.  May she rest in peace as she has surely left her mark here on earth.

Did you know that I loved you as if you were my mother?
You lived far away, but I always knew we would see each other in May. You left a lasting mark on my life at the Festival.
Your smile, your energy, your name, your zest for life, your beauty—you were astonishing, both in your generosity and your candidness.
How can I say goodbye to you today? You left a profound impact wherever you went. Those who met you can never forget you.
Your soul has returned to the Creator, so I ask Him to deliver this message to you, to tell you that I love you and that you have deeply touched my life. You were like an angel who appeared suddenly, without me expecting it, and now your departure is so difficult to accept.
I wish we could have shared more moments—more laughter, your advice, dinners, wine… simply, life.
You met my whole family during that day we spent together in Miami a year and a half ago. If only I had known it would be the last time I saw you, I would have stretched that single day into many more.
You were supposed to come to my wedding, but you told me you were unwell. I never imagined it was this serious. I am heartbroken.
I will miss your laughter, your voice, your messages.
It pains me to know that you are now even farther away—truly far away.
Rest peacefully now; you deserve it for everything you have accomplished on this earth.

Through out  these last  4 or 5 years you couldn't come to Cannes either for lock down reasons or lack of business or eventually not enough mileages. We all had been missing you so much in Cannes! 
A Cannes Film Festival without you Vashti was totally different. We were lost. You would take care of us. Smart pieces of advice were constantly given for the better of us. Thank you "Mummy Vashti".
No more luxury hotels, no more fabulous dresses and on top of it no more contagious laughs and ways in...

Vashti and I have been friends for almost a half a century. Over the years we took trips to to Martha's Vinyard, Kenya, Tanzania, the South of France to attend
The Cannes Film Festival,  and Half Moon Bay, Jamaica.
Her willingness to share her international experiences with our small  travel group were some of the best experiences of my life. Lots of laughs and girl like "giggles" gave me many memories to cherish.
Vashti was always looking out for me, just like a Mom. Her infectious laugh, and uplifting personality always enlightened my day.  She was very caring and always wanted to make sure I didn't spend too much money when it came to certain things. I can still hear her voice. 
Our friendship will always live on in my heart. Rest my dear friend  in the peace of Christ.

Such a beautiful soul 🕊️ . I met Vashti years back in France, she’s from Washington DC. It was mummy/ daughter love at first sight, her constantly encouraging me in my career, as well as performing the “mummy” duties like any mum would, even though we were separated by distance. One December holidays I introduced her to my mom over the phone, knowing that she was a blessing, a gift from God that I so needed  as she understood the industry better than my mom. 

I had such a terrible headache the day you passed on kante you’ve left us. Ohhh Vashti, in 2022 when I was in Cannes I wanted to surprise you, Veronique & I tried to call you, I’ve been trying to get hold of you since, perhaps you didn’t want us to know what you were going through. I introduced Entle to you years back, the plans we had…. May your beautiful soul rest in peace mummy. You came into my life when I most needed you, a special gift from God. I’m so grateful to have had you in my life, your kindness, generosity, & love had a profound impact on me. Your presence in my life was a gift, & I will cherish the memories we made together forever. Rest in peace beautiful soul 💔

I first met Vashti in 2011 at the Cannes Film Festival. I was overwhelmed, but she approached me with kindness and offered guidance. From that moment, we formed a lasting bond.

Vashti had a unique ability to turn ordinary moments into unforgettable experiences. Once, at Cannes, we found ourselves without invitations to a party. With her quick thinking, Vashti convinced security that we were reporters, and we were granted entry. Inside, attendees mistook me for an actress from a film called Divine. Before I could correct them, Vashti enthusiastically confirmed their assumption, leading us to the VIP area where we mingled with celebrities like Nicolas Cage.

Her generosity was boundless. Vashti always ensured we had accommodations near the Croisette during the festival. She took care of the details, making sure I had my phone and that we were well-fed. One year, she rented a three-bedroom villa and invited us to stay with her, preparing breakfast each morning and treating us like family.

Even during her battle with cancer, Vashti’s concern for others remained steadfast. While managing her real estate properties, she reached out to me, ensuring I had a place to stay before renting out her house in Coral Gables. Her selflessness and thoughtfulness were evident in every aspect of her life.

Vashti’s departure leaves a void in our hearts. The Cannes Film Festival will never be the same without her vibrant presence. Yet, we find comfort knowing she is free from suffering. Her legacy of joy, adventure, and love will continue to inspire us all.

Rest in peace, dear Vashti. You will be deeply missed.

Vashti, you were a sweetheart from the moment we met. Your presence always brought joy, and your smile could light up any room. You will be deeply missed, my dearest. Words can not express the loneliness nor tears the grief of hearing of the passing of Vasthi ! She leaves her footprints on the sands of time in many lives of those who knew her!  Condolences and peace be unto her family and people who had the pleasure of knowing her!

There was none like her and there  never will be another Vashti.  Elegant, educated, world traveler, sophisticated, but most of all a kind and thoughtful human being. Vashti was one of a kind and she will always hold a special place for all of us in our hearts. Although she was comfortable in all levels of society she was at home with the neighbor next-door. Thank you for your love, light, and energy. You were always the life of every event. I’m inspired by how you lived and loved. Heaven has gained one of the greatest angels, and I pray your spirit and strength is carried on by all your friends and family. Life is limited but memories and spirit are forever. Until we meet again, thank you for the blessing of simply being authentically you for all of us to remember.

I am still trying to convince myself that such a sweet soul has departed this world. I found Vashti to be very energetic, jovial and affectionate. Three weeks prior to her passing, I spoke to her and there were absolutely no indications that she was sick. My deepest sympathy to her family, just reflex on the wealth of memories she has created and leave behind. God be with you all.

Vashti's energy and vibrance brought the complete package to everyone's life and situation.  Her constant reminder that "You Must"  do something continues to rattle in my mind as the recollection of this truly unforgettable human being, with the Midas Touch  for making it all happen, seems fixed in my mind.  I know that her family is morning the loss of her presence here on earth.  But I want them to know that they will never be alone as their Vashti was also our Vashti and we loved her so very much and will truly miss her also.

I can never forget her screaming my name from across the room beckoning me to cut the line and come to her!  TONIGHT we don’t wait on line COME HERE lol or the way she clucked her tongue to alert her sisters and niece to her location 💕. I have so many cherished memories of my loving and loyal friend.  My heart is broken and I will miss her forever.  She treated my children as if they were her own and constantly threatened to put them in and cut them out of her will hahaha she was loved by all of us . Rest well my dear friend .
