Wayne Preston Kearns

He is survived by his beloved sister, Alexander Guinevere Kern; three loving nieces, Jennifer Trout, Sharra Romany, and Ayla Carey; eight great-nieces and nephews, Hailee, James, Sophia, Leonardo, Kinlee, Giovanni, Kappel, and Kingston; and one great-great-niece, Posey-Jane. He also leaves behind many other cherished Kearns Cousins. Wayne now joins his dearly missed parents, John P. Kearns and Edith Kearns, as well as his brother, John P. Kearns, in eternal rest.

Wayne shared a deep and lasting bond with his brother John, who was not only family, but his greatest support and rock throughout his life. Their connection was one of support, strength, and understanding, and John's presence was a constant source of comfort and guidance to Wayne through every season of life.

Wayne’s life was enriched by the community at Pleasant Housing, where he found support, and companionship. He often spoke with deep respect and admiration for CJ and Tia, whose kindness and care meant a steady and safe home and life. He also shared many years and meaningful moments with his roommate, whom he considered a true companion.

A devoted sports fan, Wayne especially loved basketball and followed it with passion throughout his life. On his final day, he spent time doing what he loved—watching March Madness with one of the people closest to him, Corey. Later, he took a walk to the store, called his niece, and left a message full of warmth, speaking about sports, his parents, and the beautiful day. He ended his day sitting on his favorite park bench, appreciating the world around him.

Wayne was happy. And in the end, that is all we can ever hope for.

He will be remembered for his generous heart, his love of family, and the simple joys he held dear.

The service of remembrance for Wayne will be held on Saturday April 12th, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Beaver Lutheran Church, Beaver Springs, PA. Internment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Beavertown, PA.

A light lunch will be provided at Beaver Lutheran after internment.
