Xiao Ying was born on March 13, 1942 in Xinyi, Guangdong. She often boasted about her athleticism as a runner in her youth. She would later move to Hainan, where she had her two daughters, before relocating to Guangzhou for work.
Later in life she moved to the United States to stay with her daughter, Wan Ning. This is when she found Christ. Xiao Ying became an active member of Chinese Community Church and was involved in many volunteering activities around Chinatown, DC. She played an integral role in raising her two grandsons, Justin and Lytton, and introduced them to the church.
Xiao Ying always carried a smile on her face. Her warmth, unshakable love for her family, and unwavering faith in Christ touched everyone she met. She will forever be remembered by her kindness and selflessness.
Xiao Ying Chen is survived by her two daughters, Wan Hua Ning and Wan Heng Ning; son-in-law, Xing Qin Xu; and three grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Justin, Lytton, and Riva.
