Kenneth Ken M. Benjamin

Kenneth Marvin "Ken" Benjamin, age 91. Beloved husband of the late Patricia Reed Benjamin. Dear father to Peter, Thomas, and late Eric. grandfather of Ana, Callie, Kurtis, Kenneth G, and William. Proceeded in death by his brother Howard and sister Helene. A native to Minneapolis. Ken moved to the Chicago area as a youth. Ken served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946 and was a graduate of Northwestern University. His career in the floral industry began in 1954 with Amling Company Wholesale Florist in Chicago. This followed previous advertising-marketing positions in the in industry. Over the years, nine publications were produced under the corporate umbrella Cenflo: Flower News, Grower's Digest, Floral Mass Marketing, The Flower Book, Flora, Nursery News, The Nursery Book, Food Market News, and Del Merchandiser. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16 2014 at 1:30 p at The Piser Chapel, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd, Skokie, IL 60077. Interment at Westlawn Cemetery, Chicago, IL.
