Beverly B. True, 85, of Skowhegan and formerly of Mercer passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2016 at her home in Skowhegan with her family by her side.
She was born on Sept. 28, 1930 in Bingham, the daughter of Kayle K. Baker and Clara O. (Austin) Baker.
She graduated from Skowhegan High School, class of 1948.
She married Everett E. True on July 7, 1949 in Norridgewock. He died in August of 2005.
She started out working part time at the Mercer Post Office, spending several years there. She spent nearly the next fifty years working in area shoe shops as a stitcher, retiring in 1994 from New Balance Shoe Company in Skowhegan.
Beverly was a member of the Methodist Church in Mercer and a member of the Mercer Community Club.
Beverly enjoyed sewing, dancing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, fly fishing, camping, going out to eat, Facebooking, she loved family gathering, cookouts, and having burned hot dogs.
She is survived by two children, Kenneth True and his wife Mary, of Norridgewock, Kathaleen Meunier and her husband Gene, of Norridgewock, one sister, Leah Maile of Pawling, N.Y., 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews.
She is predeceased by her Mother and Father, 1 brother, Kendall Baker, and 1 sister, Elaine Morgan.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the East Mercer Cemetery in Mercer, with Karen Garcia officiating.
