Clinton – Beverly Jean (Gilbert) Granville Wacome, 68, of Clinton, passed away May 10 at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough. She was born August 30, 1949 in Skowhegan the daughter of Harold and Vivian (Robinson) Gilbert.
She graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1967 and from a beauty school in 1968. Beverly first married Robert Granville of Skowhegan in 1968 and they had one son, Brian Granville. Growing up she was very involved in 4H with her parents.
She married Gerald Wacome, Jr. on March 11, 1997 in Fairfield. At one time, Beverly was a night auditor at Holiday Inn in Augusta. She worked with her husband Gerald on construction jobs for A.V. Construction of Jay. Beverly also enjoyed working as a waitress at Rebecca’s in Augusta. She enjoyed camping at Webber Pone in Vassalboro. Snowmobiling and ATVing were also an interest of hers. Beverly really enjoyed making hand pieced and hand quilted quilts for their camper and family. She was very proud of her son Brian and grandson Robert.
She is survived by her husband Gerald; son, Brian and his wife Berta; grandson, Robert; uncle John Gilbert; nieces, Julie George and Melissa Ames; nephew, Michael Kollar; step children, Jamie Wacome Elliot and husband J.C. and their three children; Eric Wacome and his wife Kym and their daughter; mother-in-law, Cynthia Wacome Laroue; and her Wacome brothers and sisters-in-law.
She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Eugene; sister, Barbara Gilbert Judson; father-in-law, Gerald Wacome, Sr.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 1:00 pm until the time of her funeral service at 2:00 pm which will be held at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan Maine with the pastor Curtiss Kanagy officiating.
Interment will follow at the East Skowhegan Cemetery in Skowhegan.
