
He was born May 3, 1928 in Skowhegan, Maine, the son Archie J. Groder and Roseanna (Barrieault) Groder.
Cliff attended area schools and after school Cliff entered the US Army serving for 4 years.
He married Sarah Patten they spent many happy years together until her passing.
He is survived by his three children; Clifford Groder Jr. and his wife Pam of Madison, Kenneth Groder of Madison, George Groder of CT., two sisters; Lucille Corson of Madison, Louise Fariole of GA, one brother Alfred Groder and his wife Mary of Skowhegan, two grandchildren Cherie, Clifford James, many great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one daughter Rosemary Groder .
A graveside service will be held on Friday November 8, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mount Vernon Rd., Augusta, Maine.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
