He was born January 3, 1937 in Portland, Maine, the son of William Harold Fuller and Effie (Woodbury) Wheeler. He married his soulmate and the love of his life, Janet (Andrews) Fuller on June 25, 1955. She died December 15, 2017.
Edgar joined the Army in 1954, serving his country during the Vietnam War, he retired from the Army in 1978. He went to work in construction in New Jersey until he moved back to his home state with his family in 1986. He then worked for SAD#59 until his final retirement in 1999. Where he then enjoyed the remainder of his years with his wife Janet, spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Edgar could carry on a conversation with anyone. He was a kind, caring and compassionate man. He would help anyone in need. He also loved painting pictures and writing poems.
Edgar was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Janet; his parents; step-father, Arthur Wheeler; brother Raymond Fuller; nephew, LCpl William Alan Fuller; niece, Rosa McGrail; and brother-in-law John Kuhn
Edgar is survived by his daughters, Joan (Fuller) Blessings and her husband of Steubenville, Ohio and Lori (Fuller) Rines and her husband Henry of Moscow; son, Edgar Fuller, Jr. and his wife Meredith of Norridgewock; grandchildren, Melissa (Blessing) Hays and husband Bill of Steubenville, Ohio, Robert Blessing and wife Loretta of Dover, Delaware, Johnathan Fuller and companion Devin Cain of South Portland, Amanda Rines and fiancé Logan Holmes of North Anson, Nicole Rines and companion Russell York of Waterville; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Kuhn of Vermont, Effie Bubar and husband Dean of North Carolina, and Karen Allen and husband David of Naples; brothers, William Fuller and wife Debbie of Randolph, Owen Fuller and wife Linda of Old Town, Jerry Wheeler and wife Debbie of Clinton, Artie Wheeler and wife Elaine of Norridgewock; several brothers and sisters in-laws and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Skowhegan Federated Church, 13 Island Ave., Skowhegan, with a funeral service to follow at 4 p.m. at the church. Burial will be held in the spring at the East Skowhegan Cemetery in Skowhegan.
