Flora M. Williams

Flora M. Williams, 94 of Skowhegan, passed away Thursday December 16, 2010 in Skowhegan, Maine.

She was born July 8, 1916, in Athens, Maine, the daughter of the late Edward Goodrich and Isabelle (York) Goodrich.

Flora was educated in Athens Schools.

She first married Alva Campbell in 1933, he passed away in 1982, she then married Ivan Williams in 1959, and he passed away in 1994.

Flora worked at Norrwock Shoe in Skowhegan before moving to Connecticut in 1954, then in various places in Connecticut, retiring from the Lee Company in Westbrook, CT, as an inspector in 1979.

Flora was a past member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary starting in CT, and then in Skowhegan, she was also past president. She volunteered at the Skowhegan Senior Spectrum, and past member of the Athens Grange. Flora and Bill enjoyed camping and traveling with the grandchildren. She was also known for her custard pies, biscuits and molasses cookies. She was also always there to lend a helping hand to who ever needed one. She worshipped her family; they were the most important part of her life.

She is survived by her children, daughter Amber Bonafonte and her husband Benjamin of New Port Richey, FL, two sons; Calvin Campbell and his wife, Maria of Old Saybrook, CT, Edward Campbell and his wife Patricia of Sinking Spring, PA, one brother Leslie Farrin of Fryeburg, daughter in-law Phyllis Campbell of Athens, 12 Grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one son Wilder Campbell, sisters; Barbara Martin, Madelyn Cowette, Ada Small, Edna Goodrich, brothers; Blaine Goodrich, Alton Goodrich, Enoch Goodrich, Victor Goodrich, Mylon Goodrich.

Viewing hours will be held on Sunday December 19, 2010 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine, a funeral service will be held on Monday December 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Skowhegan Federated Church, Island Ave., Skowhegan, Maine. Interment will be held in the spring at Mount Rest Cemetery in Athens, Maine.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
