Jean Hughes Cole

She was born on Feb. 23, 1947 in Glasgow, Scotland.

She was educated in the Scotland Schools.

She married Loyd H. Cole Sr. on December 31, 1965 in Greenock, Scotland. He died on March 26, 2013.

Jean worked for many years as a C.N.A. caring for people. She worked in several Nursing Homes in several different states over the years. For the last five years of her work career, she was a custodian and crossing guard for school district 74.

She enjoyed camping, fishing, going for rides with her dog. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family.

She is survived by six children; Sandra Evans and her husband, Lindeen, of Jet, OK., Brenda Spencer and her companion, Bill Butler, of Lewisville, TX., Mary Cole of Enid, OK., Loyd Cole Jr. and his wife, Darlene, of Madison, William Cole Sr. and his wife Karen, of Solon, Chris Cole and his wife, Dana, of North Anson, twelve grandchildren, many great grandchildren, many Nieces and Nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.

Interment will be at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta at a later date.
