

He was born September 9, 1922 in Moose River, Maine, the son of Walter and Elva (Que) Henderson.
Mearle graduated from Skowhegan High School in the class of 1941.
He married the former Geraldine Hutchins Allmendinger and they have been together for 44 years.
He has been a truck driver for most of his life, working for Fox & Gin, Norrwock Shoe Company and then for New Balance retiring in 1987. In his retirement, he took care of his two youngest grandchildren Logan and McKenna.
Mearle was a member of the Eagle’s Club in Skowhegan, he was a golden eagle, and he also was a past Maine president of the Eagles Club. He was a member of the Skowhegan/ Madison Elks Lodge in Skowhegan, a member of the bowling league in Skowhegan for many years. He enjoyed going to camp on Moosehead Lake. Mearle was an avid fisherman, loved snowmobiling, and playing cards. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family.
Besides his wife Gerry of 44 years of Skowhegan he is survived by seven children; Ruth Allen and her husband David of TX, Mearlene Lombardi of NY, Garry Henderson and his wife Mary of Norridgewock, Barry Henderson and his wife Bonnie of Warren, Cheryl Lancaster and her husband Richard of Skowhegan, Julie Watson and her companion Jayson Clowater of Clinton, Bonnie Rogers and her husband Robert of Clinton, three step-children; Kathy Pomelow and her husband Brian of N. Anson, Mike Allmendinger and his wife Sue of Skowhegan, Steven Allmendinger and his wife Penney of Unity, two sisters; Roberta Thomson of Skowhegan, Irene Jackson of Skowhegan, twenty grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers; Elwin Henderson, Lyle Henderson, one daughter Pearle Plante.
A memorial service will be held on Friday February 10, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Skowhegan Federated Church, Island Ave., Skowhegan, Maine, with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. A burial will take place in the spring at Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison.
