Cornville- Myron Churchill Moody, Sr., 95, lifetime resident of Cornville, died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, with his loving family at his bedside. He was born on March 17, 1922, the son of Ray and Lizzie (Churchill) Moody.
He graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1939 and attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. He was a dairy farmer on the Moody farm in Cornville, along with his father and brothers.
He married Emily Dorman of Hamden, CT, on March 25, 1944, and they were married for almost 74 happy years. He is survived by his dearly loved wife, Emily; son, Myron C. Moody, Jr (wife Patricia) of Cornville; daughters, Karen M. Hilton of Waterville and Susan J. Moody of Cornville; 13 grandchildren and 25 great- grandchildren.
He also is survived by his sister, Amy Stevens of Emery, SD; sisters- in- law, Beverly Moody of Houlton, Angeline Moody of Sheboygan, WI, and Lillian Rawling of Hamden, CT; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Leslie, Fremont, Allen, and Willis Moody; sisters Fay Daniels, Lina Whittemore, and Ruth Clark; and son-in-law, John Hilton.
He was a member of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church and served as an elder for many years. His love for His Savior was seen in his kind, gentle, and thoughtful ways.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 17, his birthday, at Smart-Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave, Skowhegan, with Nathan D. Lambert officiating.
Private burial in the spring.
