

Paul graduated from Newton High School, Elmhurst Queens in 1953.
In 1954 he joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1959. Paul was a member of Local 25 I.B.E.W. until his retirement in 1993.
He married Jean C. Laffman, the love of his life, in 1960 and they have five children. They moved to Maine in December, 1995. Paul was a communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister in years past. Paul enjoyed cooking, sewing, sailing, beekeeping and all types of construction. He designed and renovated his homes on Long Island, New York and in Maine. He especially enjoyed Sundays at the beach on the Long Island Sound with his family.
Paul is survived by his wife Jean and their five children: Paul E. Tekverk Jr., of New York; Dr. Jeanmarie Tekverk and her husband Josh Farnola of Waterville, Maine; Michael Tekverk and his wife Karen of North Carolina; David Tekverk and his wife Tracy of New York and Lauren and her husband Butch Asselin of New Limerick, Maine.
Paul was the proud and loving grandfather to nineteen grandchildren: Paul E. III and his wife Briana, Renée and her husband Dave, Daniel, Jonathan, Nicole, Alice, George, Tyler, Emily, Lindsey and her husband Jeremy, Craig, Kristen and her husband Jeff, Nicolaus, Stephanie, Annette, David, Suki, Finn and Ashley. He was the beloved great-grandfather to Penelope, Beatrice, Paul E. IV and Daniel. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Beth Kobel, Helen Long and Lillian Rudelmier; his brothers, Joseph and his wife Patricia and Christopher and his wife Deborah, a sister-in-law, Taeko and many nieces and nephews.
Paul was predeceased by his father, William and his mother, Helen, as well as three brothers, William, Stephen and John.
Viewing hours will be held on Thursday July 27, 2017 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 28, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church, Water St., Skowhegan, Maine. A burial will follow the services at the E. Ridge Cemetery in Cornville, Maine.
