Our thoughts and prayers are with the Nilsen family during this difficult time. Vic was our mechanic and we loved him, as he was so honest and always had a smile on his face. Loyde will so miss chatting with him at the garage.

Dear Ruthie, How I loved to turn around at church to see you two behind us each week! I thought of Vic as a big brother! You could tell he really cared about others. He's in heaven right now with Jesus and we shall see him again, praise God!

I first meet vic as a teenager in church later he gave me my first job pumping gas and cleaning the shop as I grew older vic would work on my cars and talk about life he was always there if I needed to talk I liked it when we're talking about his drag car or working on it to get it ready for a race I will miss him dearly but I know he is with God and I will see him soon rip my friend

I am so sorry to hear of your loss,He was a great person and a great friend.He was a mentor to me from the days of sunday school and even more so the years I worked for him at the shop.This man taught me more about the rights and wrong of life than any single person it has been my privilege to know. He was a wonderful man who always did his best to help you out, you could trust what he told you and felt good about his work.  He and Paul made such a good team. To the Nilson family, my dad and brother (Dennis Willette) introduced us to Vic many, many years go not only through his mechanic abilities but also through his church environment. He was a compassionate, genuine person. Through our dad, with his large family, many of us came to know Vic and chose to travel quite a distance from out of town to do business with only him; from Yarmouth and Wells, Maine. We were always treated with respect, a smile and the truth (be it in faith or your car). One could not have known a more gentle and gracious man. The essence of his personality guided his kindness. My thoughts and prays go out to Ruth and to the family. I first met Vic was when he opened Vic's Auto in the old laundry mat on North Ave.  I would help him part time work on cars he became a great friend to me.  I have known Vic for many years so long I lost count on how many and you could not ask for a better friend.  Vic was always willing to give a helping hand and he did with me. I went a few times to Winterport to watch him drag race.  My family and I was sadden when we heard about Vic's passing he will be greatly missed by all.

Every time we saw Vic, he smiled and had a good story for us. Wonderful man, gone too soon.  You will be missed.

I was so sad when I read about Vic this morning. I've been a customer of his for 26 years & have very much appreciated his wonderful service & friendship. He will be greatly missed my many in the area. He was too young to die.

We would like to say how very sorry and saddened we were to hear the news of Vic's passing. He was a incredibly man who always met us with a smile. He will be greatly missed. God Bless you all.

So sorry to hear of Vic's passing. I've known him since he landed in Skowhegan in the 1970's. He was a friend who will be missed as well as my mechanic all those years. He always had a bright smile when greeting customers which I'll miss. He had a way of making you feel like your problem was the most important problem of the day and he'd get if fixed-no problem. It was rare when he didn't also work something about his family into the conversation. He was proud of you all. We recently shared stories about drivers licenses and teaching kids to drive. My daughter got her license in December. I'll end by saying I don't think Vic had an enemy in the world. I think that says the most about him.

Can't believe I'll never see him again what an awesome person he was.  He will be so missed in the small community.  I'm heart is broken for us all especially his family.  He talked about his family lovingly.
