Dave and I will always remember "Grandma Keil" and her enthusiastic support of "her boys" Little League team the "Tigers".  We are sure that you all will miss her so much.  She was a great gal!

Grandma Keil;

Growing up; All of my friends always told me how lucky I was that I had three amazing Grandma’s. They referred to my grandma’s as Grandma moon: the one with the delicious food, Grandma Donna: the One with the worlds best Hugs, and Grandma Keil the one who’d spank ya. Or SWAT ya is what she’d refer to it as. 
There are so many things about Grandma Keil that you just have to respect. She told it like it was; She wasn’t afraid to hurt your feelings, but she’d never leave out the words “I love you” no matter how harsh she’d just been on you.  She taught me so much growing up, How I should Value education, Respect others, and  how to take care of my family.  It was not only that she was able to preach to us the importance of love, respect, honor, education, and family. She was able to show me how to do it. How to cook, how to sew, how to play the piano, how to care for my family, what to value, right from wrong. The things schools are afraid to teach now a days, the things parents are too busy to teach you. She was the one who stressed the importance of growing up with good habits. Love and Respect; is what radiated from her- in everything she did. I only hope that I can carry on what she has taught me, and teach the same thing to my children. 

Grandma, I don’t know what heaven is like- But I know you are there. Give grandpa don a giant hug for me,  Build us all a garden up there, plant every seed with grandpa and know that we will all join you in time.  I know you’ll be watching over us. I can only imagine the teasing were all going to get now that you two are reunited. 

Rest now gram, and know that you made a giant, beautiful family, know that all of us will carry you in our hearts, and that the family you built will make you proud.  And If I am able to be half the grand mother that you have been to me, then I’ll be proud. I LOVE YOU.

I totally have to give Gram Keil credit, she had to have been the oldest person on face-book, She must have been genius to be able to figure it all out without every owning a computer.

Dear Great Grandma Keil,

When I was younger, I remember spending almost every weekend with you at your house. And sometimes asking my parents for extra time or another night with you. I remember the doll house us grandaughters had in the front living room, which we played on a lot of the while you were in the kitchen, or garden, or watching the ball game. Or how about the time I had a baby doll and you taught me how to bathe her and take care of her. There were countless memories of helping you in the garden and green house. You always loved your flowers and every time I was with you around them, my favorite question, "Where is my Kayla flower?" You always knew exactly where I could find it. Though you always let me cut some flowers from your garden and bring them home to my mom. I'm just getting started with our many memories that I could talk forever about. But I got plenty more that I am gonna share with you. Like the many times we would watch birds from the kitchen window and I would pull out bird books and look them up. But after we did that we would get out the tea party set and have something to drink and our snack to go with was graham crackers with vanilla cake frosting, and after finishing our food and drink we would pull out the white board and play connect the dots and see who could make the most boxes. But some of my favorite memories would be when you got at me for holding my pencil the wrong way all because you worked on teaching me how to write in my little writing journal. We found it not to long ago and looked at it together. After I grew up from that stage we moved on to art projects, you reminded me every time dont make a mess and to clean up after myself. You always did end up joining in with me and playing with my art toys, like the Spin Art or the Blow pens and the countless times we tried to put them together to see what would happen and try to create something cool and different. Those were some great times Grandma. 

I am so thankful for everything you have done for me and it means more to me than anything. You have always been completely honest with me. Pulling me aside to tell me things because you wanted me to hear it straight from you and not from someone else. Thank you for all the times you would randomly call to bug your "bug", and check up on me. More than anyting, I'm glad you got to meet my boyfriend. Though you didnt like the idea of me dating because you thought I should put school first and worry about dating and finding that special someone later on. But to know that after you met him, you liked him and he had you approval is everything I wanted. And I know you didnt like the fact that I moved all the way to Arizona to be with him, you still managed to tell me you didnt like it but you checked up on me and made sure that I was happy. Again this is where your honesty would come in play and I could always count on you to tell me how it is and not hold back on anything even if you knew the truth isnt what we wanted to hear. I cherish every memory and everything you have ever said to me. Could you do me a favor, watch over me and when I need help or comforting and or anything along those lines make sure you send me a sign that everything will be okay so I know for sure that I will be okay. But most importantly every time someone feels my feet and complains that they are cold and or freezing I will know you are with me. Or everytime someone complains that I kick in my sleep or move to much or hog the blankets, I will know you are with me. And I know this because you complained about this stuff every time I stayed the night with you. I will never forget you and your hot water pad. 

Grandma, there are not enough words in this world to tell you how much I care about you and love you. And on that note, no matter where I am or where you are, I will always be your "BUG"! I love and miss you Grandma!

Harlin & Donna, I am sooo sorry to hear about Athalie.  I will miss her sense of humor and her "tell it like it is" attitude.  She was a great lady!
