

Eugene Charles 'Gene" Sener of Crystal Tree Village, Smokey Point, WA passed away on December 13, 2011 from complications of a stroke at Marysville Senior Care Center. He was born on April 25, 1925 in Port Angeles, WA to Levi and Elizabeth (Kehrer) Sener.
Levi Sener was a farm hand laborer and his family moved several times to Marion, OR, Wapoato, WA and Yakima, WA and settled in Maple Valley, WA.
Gene attended Mt Tahoma High School. At age 18, he joined the U.S. Army in Seattle, WA. He was a Medical Technician serving 20 years, retiring in 1964 at Fitzsimons Hospital in Denver, CO. He served in Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe and Occupied Japan, receiving three Bronze Medals and WWll Victory Medal. Returning to Seattle he went to work at Hullins Transport Warehouse and retired again.
While stationed at Fort Lawton Army Hospital he met Roberta (Pugh) Jordan at the PX and they were married in 1955. Roberta was a twice widow with four children. When Gene was asked if he had any children he would say no but I inherited two sons and two daughters.
Gene loved outdoor cooking with friends, camping, fishing, hunting, driving his tractor mowing neighbors fields and golfing. He was a charter member of the National Association of Left-Handed Golfers. Gene was a Marysville Moose member for 37 years serving on the Board of Officers and as Governor 1987-1988. He received the Washington State Northern Idaho Moose Association Legion of the Year Award. Gene also participated on the Moose Legion ritual team competing in many Moose ritual competitions. Gene and Roberta were Snow birds for several years, spending winter in Yuma, AZ.
Gene was preceded in death by three brothers; four sisters; inherited son, Jack Granstrom and inherited daughter, Janet (Granstrom) Adams.
Gene is survived by his wife, Roberta; brothers, Raymond of Portland, OR and Jimmie of Michigan; inherited son, Charlie Jordan of New Mexico; inherited daughter, Mary (Neil) Buzzell of Arlington, WA; daughter-in-law, Lynn Granstrom of Arlington; son-in-law, Bruce Adams of Shoreline, WA; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Family plans a gathering at a later date.
