Everett Lester Harrington was born on November 24th, 1937, in Renton WA to Everett Fayette Harrington and June Belle Case Harrington. When he was a toddler, his older sisters nicknamed him “Buzz” and it stuck for life. Buzz passed away peacefully on March 18th, 2023, in Monroe, WA with family by his side.
Buzz graduated from Sultan High School in 1955 then served as a US Navy Seabee from May 28th, 1957- May 16th, 1962. After his service in the Navy, he worked in the timber industry for 11 years, followed by various other jobs. He retired at age 68 from American Boiler Works where he worked performing metal fabrication.
A big part of Buzz’s life was riding motorcycles. He bought his first Motorcycle in 1958, a BMW Goldstar that he would race around Duvall. Later, he owned various brands of bikes. His last was a 2019 freewheeler. His favorite bike was always the one he was riding today!
His first marriage was to Sharon Bascom (21 years). They had two children, Teresa L Harrington, and Mark E Harrington. His second Marriage to Darlene A Wolfe was just short of 40 years. They would have celebrated that milestone on April 15th. Buzz happily took on her three children, Matthew W Kyzar, Michael E Kyzar, and Timothy J Kyzar.
Buzz lived the last 40 years in Snohomish, where he had many close family, friends, and neighbors. He was an active member of Snohomish Faith Church. Buzz was a member of North Cascade Harley Owners group where he served as chaplain for 11 years, as well as The Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA). In his free time, he enjoyed fishing from his boat “The Blind Hog”, hunting, hiking, camping and generally spending time in the outdoors where he enjoyed all of God’s creation. He also spent time tinkering and working on vehicles, especially his prized 1959 “Willys”.
The center of Buzz’s life for the past 36 years was his relationship with Jesus Christ. In his quiet, humble way he shared his faith, and nothing brought him more joy than to be able to pray for others. He is predeceased by his children Teresa, Mark, Michael, and grandchildren Ashley, Emma and Tatum. Survived by his loving wife Darlene, two of his children (Matthew and Timothy), as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Celebration of his life will be April 22nd, 2023, at 2pm at Snohomish Faith Church- 1220 22nd St Snohomish, WA 98290. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
