Leandra was born January 11, 1972 in Bellflower, California to Wilson and Angela (Bommarito) Holt. She moved with her family to Machias, Washington in October of 1978. She was baptized into The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on March 23, 1986 at the age of 14 in Elma, WA by Brother Bruce Martin. She graduated from Snohomish High School in June of 1990 and soon after moved to Halsey, Oregon. In 1991, she moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma.
In that next 20 years, Leandra moved to Oklahoma City where she bought her first house that she opened up to many different young sisters that lived with her off and on. She would always joke that she was running a halfway house. Halfway from youngkid to marriage. Because of her love of travel and for the brethren, she and the young people she was a great example to never seemed to be at one assembly. Always going to a different place, a lot of laughs, singing, volleyball, and sometimes some tears, as she was a shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen to all that came to her for comfort and advice.
In her travels over the years between Oklahoma and going home to see family in Washington, Leandra met who would become the love of her life, Michael Anton Renshaw at her Brother-in-law Mike and Sister Lisa’s house. There they shared their first kiss and years later on January 4, 2011 after a long engagement of 3 days, they were the first to be joined in marriage in the newly remodeled Newcastle church in Oklahoma. After their union, Mike and Leandra lived in the Snohomish area until God Called her home.
During their life together, Mike and Leandra opened their house to many who needed a place to land. They even took in two foster daughters, Rosie and Alanye who they loved very much.
Leandra loved spending time with the brethren and their children. She loved hiking, going to the ocean, baking and trying out new recipes. She loved crocheting things for those she cared about, cake decorating and adding bling to everything she possibly could. Most of all, she loved her family and spending as much time as possible with her nieces and nephews.
Leandra was proceeded in death by her father, Wilson Ray Holt, Grandmothers, Mary Bommarito, Julia (Holt) Johnson, and Dorothy Johansen. Stepfather, Floyd Teel; Father-in-law, Scott Renshaw; Daughter, Rosealyn “Rosey” Marie (VanVolkenburg) Melton, and numerous aunts, uncles and brethren she considered as family.
