"Pat” was seventy-four years old, born in Houston, Texas to Winnie Griswold and Walter Leslie Thomas. The family moved to Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho in 1958. Pat worked for a summer fighting forest fires with the U.S. Forest Service. Shortly after high school he joined the U.S. Army. While serving in Germany, Pat re-enlisted, flying home to Seattle on leave to marry Marjie Kay Thomas, who he had met in high school. He would later serve in Viet Nam, and then as an Army recruiter in Idaho. After leaving the Army, Pat felt called to the ministry. He attended Moody Bible Institute, and was later ordained. His life in ministry was devoted primarily to serving military men and women. He is survived by his three children, Sean (Sally), Joshua (Marcia), and Priscilla, his two grandchildren Clyde (9) and Pepper (4), and his older brother, Bruce."
