1920-2013 Lewise was born on May 2, 1920 at Fort Douglas in the Township of Orange, Wisconsin to Jens Peter Nasby and Bertha Christina Jensen Nasby. She passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on November 17, 2013. She lived in eastern Montana during her early childhood. While in high school her family was forced to move to the north Seattle area because of the dust bowl climate which caused financial hardships and health issues, particularly for Lewise as she contracted dust pneumonia. Lewise married George McCown in January of 1941 and together raised their 10 children. George died in 1984, and seven years later she married Carly Smith. Carly died 10 years after their marriage. Lewise was always active in her church, serving as a Sunday school teacher/ superintendent, Bible school teacher, and a member of the Women's Missionary Council. She was very involved in Bible Study Fellowship. She was a Christian witness to all she came in contact with. She remained physically active until the last four years of her life -- walking, swimming and attending aerobic classes. She now joins her deceased parents; her two husbands; her brothers, Lewis and Gordon; and her daughter, Jan Countryman. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Peterson; sister-in-law, Diane Nasby; her nine living children: Wayne McCown (Darlene), Lewis McCown (Cassie), Lonny McCown (Diana), Joyce McCown (Charles Cleveland), Jeanne Lowell (Jim), Victor McCown (Crystal), Ruth Kuehn (Steve), Beth McCoy (Matt), and Daniel McCown; 26 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
