Timothy Paul Reed was born in Snohomish on June 4, 1946 to Wesley and Imogene Reed. He followed three older sisters; Irene, Lorraine and Dede. Having grown up in the Snohomish Free Methodist Church, he accepted Christ as his Savior at five years’ of age. As an avid participant in CYC, he eventually earned the Robert’s Award (similar to an Eagle Scout). He graduated from Snohomish High School in 1965 and Seattle Pacific University in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Several years later he went back to Seattle Pacific and earned a teaching degree with special education K-12. He loved sports and played basketball and baseball as a teen and young adult. While he was working on earning his teaching certificate, Lois was working as a telephone operator with his cousin Cindy McDaniel. She recommended the Snohomish Free Methodist Church and Lois started attending where she met Tim. They were married August 24, 1973. Tim accepted his first teaching position at a junior high in Tieton, Washington, near Yakima, where he spent 6 years teaching. Their son, Paul, was born in 1974 and their special needs daughter Amy, in 1976. They moved back to western Washington to be closer to family in 1979. Tim worked at Nord Door Company until they closed and then at Magna Design building furniture. They adopted their daughter Katie in 1982 and she became the oldest sibling. Later in life, Tim started playing golf. He loved playing with his friend Steve Chase and his cousins Gary, Dennis and Jeff Howell. In 2011, he became sick and had to retire. After six months of appointments and tests, he was diagnosed with a rare form of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma called Waldenstroms. He underwent chemotherapy treatments, T-cell transplants, and many other measures. After 14 years of battling cancer, he succumbed to an infection that made its way to his brain. In spite of this, the Lord was with him every step of the way and he never doubted his faith. Tim loved singing in the church choir, music groups, and has taken up residence singing with the heavenly choir.
Tim is survived by his wife of 52 years Lois Reed his children Katie (Rikee), Paul (Laura), and Amy his grandchildren Alexandra, Evan, Kenyona and Jalien and his sisters Irene (Russell) deceased, Lorraine (Dick), and Dede (Howard) and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great niece and nephews.
