Joyce C. McCoy

Joyce was born January 19, 1935 in Janesville, WI to the late Vernon and Minnie(Trinrud) Thorson.

Joyce married Terry Bruce McCoy in 1954 in Janesville, WI. They enjoyed fifty-five years together. Terry preceded her in death on January 3, 2010.

While raising their three children, Joyce worked for the Toro company in Bloomington, MN as a Manager of Accounting. After she retired, she moved with her husband, Terry, to their home in Minong. They enjoyed many years together with their children, grandchildren, friends and relatives. Joyce took great delight in her grandchildren. She and Terry were doting grandparents and attended many of their events. Joyce had the gift of hospitality. Everyone who walked into her home felt warmly welcomed and cared for.

Joyce had put her trust and faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. The outflow of her faith was evident by how she loved people. She served in her church and community in many ways by leading the choir and playing the piano/ organ in two churches, helping with many church bazaars, serving at nursing homes, making and serving meals when needed and much more. She enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, knitting, and needle work. She also liked going for pontoon rides, reading on the deck to the sounds of the birds and visiting with her friends.

Among those who survive, and gratefully shared her life, are her children: Linda (John) Whitmore, Sharon (Tim) Whitmore both of Prior Lake, MN; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and one on the way.

She is preceded in death by her husband Terry (2010), son Timothy (2005), two brothers and one sister.
