

Anna (Christopher) DeMatteo, 90, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at James Square Health and Rehabilitation Centre. Anna was born in Syracuse to the late Leonard and Agnes (Alfieri) Christopher in 1925. She was a US Army Veteran of World War II, serving as a WAC in 1945. She worked at Prestolite in Syracuse before retiring. She was an avid bowler and gardener and was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church. Anna was predeceased by her husband Edmund in 2008 and her siblings, Mary, Carly, Fannie, Leonard and Carl.
Surviving are 3 sons; Daniel (Sue), of Syracuse, Philip (Cindy), of Lakeland and Edmund (Christine), of Geddes, 4 grandchildren; Jacob, Anna, Angela and Celia, 8 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law; June and Jean Christopher, Virginia and Mary DeMatteo, Udine (Paul) Mika and Lillian (Arthur) Werbeck, brother-in-law; William Brewer, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:15 am Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 1:00 pm at St. Cecilia’s Church, Solvay, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Monday, March 9, 2015 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
