Donald “Saggy” Salvetti, 87, of Solvay, passed away Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. A life resident of Solvay, he was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Salvetti was employed by Carrier Corporation for over 30 years before retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Solvay-Geddes Veterans, the Stanley Pennock VFW Post 2893, the Solvay Tigers AC and the Hilltop Club. He was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church and past member of its Holy Name Society.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Rose Carno, 2 daughters; Janet (Joseph) Mahoney, of Florida and Linda Hodge, of Camillus, 2 granddaughters; Nicole (Michael) Reid, of Highland and Alyssa (Lawrence) Williams, of Endwell, 2 great grandchildren; Delainey Rose and Austin Michael, a sister; Carrie Salvetti, of Camillus, a sister-in-law; Dolly Carno, of Westvale, former son-in-law; John Ammann, of Syracuse and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:15 am Tuesday September 14th in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9 am in St. Cecilia’s Church, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 pm Monday September 13th at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Avenue, Solvay.
